WHAT is IKMAL?
The Association of Malaysia’s Maritime
Professionals or the IKHTISAS KELAUTAN MALAYSIA
(IKMAL) is a professional body for mariners and
maritime professionals in Malaysia who are serving
on board vessels as well as working ashore.
It was registered with the Registrar of Societies
(RoS) in February 1985 under the initial name of
“Institut Kelautan Malaysia”, later amended to
“Ikhtisas Kelautan Malaysia” in November 2014
