The Shipping & Oil Industry activities in the Asian region is ever growing. It is therefore important for Oil Spill Response (OSR) Preparedness & Response Capabilities to grow together. This can be accomplished by:
• The building up of OSR Resources – Proper OSR Equipment & Trained Manpower.
• Having an effective and robust Oil Spill Response Contingency Plan (OSRCP) that will function effectively.
• Adopt and encourage the conduct of OPRC IMO OSR Training Courses & Exercises to ensure effective and efficient OSR preparedness and response capabilities.
• Ensure experienced Oil Spill Professionals and globally-approved Instructors conduct these OPRC IMO Training Courses & Exercises.

The Course is in accordance to MEPC Circ. 478 and OPRC IMO Model Training Course. The Association of Malaysia’s Maritime Professionals (IKMAL), together with Oil Spill Preparedness Sdn. Bhd. (OSP), has taken the initiative to conduct an OPRC IMO Level 2 OSR Training Course to address this need.
